Hi guys new here after reading the forum for a while, I have a 2002 peugeot vivacity, which I have had for a few weeks now, was a nasty silver with loads of scratches after previous owner crashed it. The night I had bought it (well swapped for a push bike) someone tried to steal it, (the built in lock was around the back tire). Anyway they broke the steering lock. my problem is that my bike starts fine can idle all day but when I try to ride it round the block or after a few mins it just dies completely, I have to turn the key to off wait a min and turn it on again, ( theres times nothing happens when I push the start button i.e no sound from the startor motor) so I have to turn it off and on again. the spark plug is covered in oil (the bottom bit that sparks) I have took apart the carb and its clean ( ive had to unblock one before on same bike) This has only happened after I put premium unleaded instead of standard unleaded but that shouldn't make a difference right? sorry for my rambling on but im just trying to give you guys all the problems I can think off. I am confident enough to do things like clean the carb out spark plug battery lights etc, so I'm looking to do the work myself. any help would be gratefully appreciated. Attachments:

im no 2t expert but im wondering if it has malfunctioned in the mixer maybe you could try to empty the oil and premix a small amount of fuel to see if that is the problem and again wait for someone else to chime in here i dont want to tell you something that may hurt more than help

Would it be an electrical fault?

my question is the oil found on the plug that would seem to be a concern for me as if when you open the throttle the mixer opens wide up and dumps too much oil in killing the engine

How do I adjust "the mixer"? I can see the Oil Filter is full and looks clean.

Some are controled by the Throttle cable. The Throttle cable has a "Y" and one cable goes to the Oil control and opens it to let some oil in. It may just need to be adjusted to not pull to much. Lefty

maybe it got hooked up on something which is causing it to open too much he did say it's been wrecked maybe the cable snagged on something

Can't see the throttle cable splitting, I know one end goes into the carb as a needle.

Amirasdaddy, I said some are controlled by the throttle cable. If you do not see two cables going to the carb then it is Vacuumm operated. See if you can see any type of adjustment screw on the part that the OIL line goes into. Or you may want to take a picture of the carb maybe someone can spot something. Lefty

Sorry ive somewhat made a tit of myself, i can see the oil line going into the engine, and it appears there is oil over half of the block where the spark plug goes as you can see in the pictures. Attachments:

The night I had bought it (well swapped for a push bike) someone tried to steal it, (the built in lock was around the back tire). Anyway they broke the steering lock. I have a feeling it's in the cable, it's possible (the horse thief) may have binded or damaged the cable somehow around the keylock possibly. The cable runs along the keylock side, so he may have mistook it for a wire or something. You have to remove the the front piece to check this out, under the right side of the scooter is the cable adjustment for the oil pump, make sure it's not loose, this can cause it to feed too much oil too.
