What is the correct replacement spark plug for a 244cc Linhai clone? I removed the factory original, which was labeled DR8EA. My local Pep Boys said that a Champion RA6HC was a correct replacement. Anyone have any other ideas? Is platinum preferable to Champion's usual copper plug? If so, why?

No Chumpions in Asian scooters. Their quality is all over the place. The plug you listed is a Japanese NGK. Overall, the best in the world and they are reasonable. There is no need to replace it for a long time. Honda recommends the spark plugs in their modern engines be "inspected and replaced as needed". I would replace it @ 6000 miles as a matter of course. There are up-graded plugs(NGK, as well), should you care to go that route. Remember spark plugs should be installed with a torque wrench. Lacking that, put it in snug and clean and dry. There is no need to remove the plug for the valve adjustment, so there is no need to remove it at all from now on
P.S. The 244 is a CF Moto(Honda)engine.

Autolite has an Iridium cross reference for that number. That's what I'm running. So far, so good.

We also offer the iridium upgrade DPR8EIX-9 stock# 2202 I just posted this some where else today also but I contacted ngk to verifie in they gave me the above information and got the plug @ oreilly for little over 7 bucks and had several in stock

I thought Linhai only make 257cc engines.. CFMoto makes 244cc engines.

I've tried a number of cross referenced plugs of several makes.... Champion, Autolite, and Nippondenso. No more Champions or Autolites for me in asian scooters.... the heat range of Autolites and Champions is only approximately equivalent, and performance is so-so.
