Up date on my MC-95-250 experience.
4-15-2011 Received new and upgraded MC-95-250. I have not had any stability problems, it drives like a four wheeler. Apparently the new Manufacture incorporates all of the fixes. My dealer (Thrifty Scooters) recommended I have the scooter delivered to the freight terminal as most of the fright damage happens from the terminal and the delivery company which are often second party contractors. My machine was shipped by UPS fright and was packaged well and rapped in clear plastic which allowed me to check for damage with out have to take the box apart. They loaded it on my ( borrowed ) trailer and home I went. Unpacking was a snap. Removed the clear plastic, cut the tie down wires (4) remove 2 board and rolled the scooter off. Taking crate apart was and disposing of took the time.
No problems getting the scooter registered in Mississippi. Got the plats, Inspection sticker and insurance (geico 1 year $99.00) all in the same day.
First Problems: encountered out of the box. 1. Had to remove the plastic on the handle bars to adjust the hand brake to in stall the right hand mirror.
2. Speedometer did not work. The plug in located at the base of the back wheel was not connected. Nothing about this in owners manual.
3. Hose clamps are junk. Installed new stainless steel clamps and replace the water with 50/50 coolant.
4. Check ALL Bolts and lock-tight all vital bolts. (was recommended by my dealer)
4-25-2011. Have used the trike for a hundred miles. It gets about 50 MPG @ 45 MPH. Checked it with a GPS because the speedometer in erratic. It jumps from 30 to 40 with out an increase in speed.
Problems discovered and corrected .
1. Mirrors. Just loctite them. There not enough room to get a wrench around the nut.
2. Muffler bolts came loose - Loctite them
3. Starter wiring puled out of the socket. Checked all the wiring and taped every connection and put wire shielding on all exposed wires. (it look better)
4. Changed the oil with out any problem but could not find the transmission fill hole. Nothing in the manual about it. After 4 days of looking and getting no help from my dealer did locate it . It on the left back side of the transmission. (by the trans vent screen) ( left side of bike facing forward)
5. Tire pressure - Tires were under inflated (By fault) 40 psi made the bike much more stable.
6. Seat is CHEAP CHEAP and is uncomfortable.
7. I would not ever drive this machine at 60 MPH it is way too unstable on rough roads, and for me that is ok. I live in the country and most of the reads are 45 or less. If you are going to try and drive this to work on a freeway you taking you life in your hands. I would not want to flip this thing at 55 or 60 MPH.
Now the pluses:
I like this bike and it runs well and looks great. Every time I go to town every one really looks at and when I went to the restraint, every one came out to look it.
I am happy with it and does what I want it for (to cruise around my local area).
I am glad I invested $4450.00 instead of 20K+ for a Can-am . I have read about the problems with their steering locking up and people getting killed. I suggest you Google can-am problems. You will find allot of links about their problems and their refusal to wariness them. If you look at their video, the machines are going slow. I haven't seen any of them up in the 60 - 70 MPH range.
Parts:
You can sigh up and buy parts direct. I ordered a chain and Sprocket to have (just in case) for $65.00 plus @20 shipping.
Bjlopez, That is good to hear, we have heard of only two other people and they had nothing but problems with them. Especailly with the front wheel alignment and also very unstable, they would not take them over 30mph for fear of crashing. Lefty

I decided to change the name from the ChineseReverseTrikeGroup to MC-95ReverseTrikeGroup as it is more specific to our machines, and it probably what newcomers will be searching for. There are some variations of the name depending on the supplier but they all come back to the MC-95, so I think that it fits well.

Beardoggie1 ScooterDawg Great site an allot of good work and information. and I like my Trike. You encountered much of the same pre and first run attention an I. FYI There are no "2011 MD-95" They are 2010 Check your VIN. I bought my from Thrifty Scooters in April 2011and he told me they were 2010. All of the modifications mention in your site are on this trike. JR was the best dealer I found (with and short minor shortcomings) I check out every one on the web for over 2 mounths. Most of which either had no prone number or would not answer and only send you to voice mail.
The bike was not EPA approved until 1-29-2011 All of the EPA info on the bike was in anticipation of the certification
Fortunately by state and your state allowed you to title it even though the manufacture was not on the Federal approved manufactures list. I(would think they will be added soon. The manufacture is http://www.kandivehicle.com/newEbiz1/Ebi....uctExhibit.html
The approved which is Federal Department of Transportation which show all of the approved MFG's - I only copied the Chinese manufactures.

So all of these dealers have been spouting speeds up to 70 MPH - While the manufacture is saying 75 Km/H = 46.6 MPH I feel lucky with my 51.8 MPH - I suspected an electronic kick out because mine kicks out @ 51.8 using a GPS and not the erratic speedometer which showed between 62 and 65 MPH My top speed content on flat ground - down hill or up hill. Then I saw this on the manufacture site.
Roketa and IceBear imports the MC-95 but it made by them Kandi.

Interesting to see a couple more folks have taken the plunge. Both of you gentlemen are definitely in the "honeymoon" phase of ownership. Lucky for you there weren't too many issues. That Wolters guy from Thrifty Scooters was just about useless in dealing with the issues my machine was shipped with. One of which was an improperly assembled engine head.
After putting about 1400 miles on the odometer (probably not really that many) on the thing, here are some maladies to look forward to;
Loud muffler. See that little piece of flex junk on the pipe? As it heats and cools, it will open up little holes between the weave, and about half your exhaust will exit there, instead of through the muffler. It will sound like a riding mower with no muffler on it. The only fix is to replace the exhaust system...but with what?
Cracks and breakage around every bolt connected to the rear fender. There is supposed to be a frame on these, based on the screw holes molded into the underside. The manufacturer seemed to have found out that they could save the $3, and by time there were any problems, the warranty period would be long over. Not that they would have fixed it for you anyway. Get some epoxy putty...you'll need it.
A rear/ parking brake that is useless. I have adjusted this thing 10 times. Maybe 11 is a charm.
Lots of lost screws. Buy extras....
I won't comment further on the handling, as I have yet to install the new stabilizing parts I had to purchase from the manufacturer. Based on what they are, it has to be better than without them. But I will say that if you are trying to steer this thing with the handlebars while going down the road at high speed, you are probably going to die. I've enough hours on this machine to know what it's going to do, so I can throw it around some. To really control this machine, you need to steer it with your feet. Shifting your weight from one footpeg to the other, with light action on the handlbars, will provide the best control. Lean into sharp turns like you are driving a snowmobile. You'll know how much is necessary the first time one of the front wheels lifts. You also need to make sure that the alignment is the best it can be, or nothing will help much. Getting that one right is a juggling act between "too much drag" and "squirrely", and requires a lot of tweaking and test driving.
I also wouldn't trust the odometer in calculating the MPG. If you can't trust the speedo (and you can't) then the same goes for the odometer.
Oh, and I wouldn't trust that BS about it being safer to pick up at the terminal. It's been transferred to several different trucks already, what's one more? If you got "Free Shipping", then picking it up at the terminal puts an extra hundred bucks in the pocket of the dealer. It was tricky to get the big crate out onto the lift gate, but not that big a deal.
Fortunately by state and your state allowed you to title it even though the manufacture was not on the Federal approved manufactures list. I(would think they will be added soon.
Most states go by the NHSTA approved list for registration of vehicles. I know PA and NJ are really stick to this list. If you search the Federal DOT site for approved VINs it will take you to http://icsw.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/manufacture/ .
If you enter L5C in the WMI box it returns: ZHEJIANG KANGDI VEHICLES CO. LTD.
Also your list did not include L37 which is HUZHOU DAIXI ZHENHUA TECHNOLOGY TRADE CO., LTD. This is the WMI for Ice Bear which I know for a fact is Federally approved, otherwise the State of Wisconsin would not allow me to sell and register them.
Another note for information. All Motorcycles/Scooters must have the FMVSS lable attached to the machine to be registered.
Now keep in mind CA has their own set of rules for what can and can not be registered for use on their highways.

Read comments from other MC-95 250 cc reverse trikes at www.mc-95reversetrikegroup.com Find tips on maintenance and other interesting info.
If you are an owner of an MC-95 Reverse Trike then please send in details of the good and bad things you have found.
I own a MC-95 and I love it! It is fun to ride, handles really well, with a top speed of about 55mph (not to the 68mph + claimed in dealers adverts). Great for town, city and low spped roads, I 'd not recommend it for Interstate use, but if you like to maintain your own machine then the MC95 is great value for money in my opinion, and not a crap others would like to suggest. I'm always being stopped by people who think it is a CanAm, and want to know more about it, and it certainly looks great.
