Finely back on the road, three days and counting. Checked MPG and only getting 46mpg? Probably running 55mph is killing the mpg. Working 47 miles away from home, with only 55&60 mph roads to get there is a problem.

I've got a welder I can take care of the frame problem. Trans and suspension would be the deal breakers. However I do have a stock rotary engine that would probably make this thing hum if I could adapt a driveline.

rotary engine, how sweat the Yamahas were.....Yuppers

46mpg is not bad if running at 55-65mph. I put 157 miles om my Magnum and 122 of them were at 58-64mph and she took on 2.98 gallons. Now that was a tade over 1 hour and 15 minutes, some consrruction.

If your running at 55-60mph hope your motor has some miles on it, I am well over break-in

I wonder how many of you dealers on here that always defend icebear and their junk trikes would go to walmart and buy a flat screen on sale an take it home an it doesnt work but a day would wait on new parts or would you demand your hard earned money back? You buy one of these icebear scooters and its just too bad! Ya shoulda known an u didnt pay much so tough! Same people would demand their mmoney back if they werent happy so why do these scooters get a pass?

The trike was setup at a certifide Wild Fire scooter dealership. The trike is used back and forth to work on paved roads and still breakes down. Leaking gear housing, No reverse, bad rear right axil, broken faring bracket because of the vibration, I could keep going but I think you get the point.

I read this thread and your posts. You certainly are frustrated and should be. Who wouldnt be pissed off if standing in your shoes?

It does sound like your scooter has mechanical defects. IMHO, the dealer should not have let that scooter out of the building. It should have been parked as soon as you identified any problem you listed. New vehicles should not leak or vibrate. They certainly should not be driven as that will cascade into other things breaking.

I would not put it past a vehicle dealer to "forget" a few things during inspection. Everything that happenend may have been avoided by doing a PDI.

I hope you get to ride and enjoy your scooter soon. My suggestion is to enjoy working on your scooter. One can learn a lot by doing a full PDI. Your going to have several fluid changes coming due on your new scooter. I think you should avoid that dealer.

Geezzzzh! I think I am going to put in TALLER GEARS with the 16/37 gears that I got in there and the BBK the sucker still wants to do WHEELIES on me. With taller gears MAYBE I can tame it down some and not have it push be back all the way to the passenger seat ;D

Well I'm certainly not a dealer and I'm certainly not defending Ice Bear. I got what I paid for ...an inexpensive scooter trike, that granted I must work on, but I enjoy. I've really done nothing to it in the last 400 miles other than tighten up a couple of screws. No big deal. I didn't buy a 30,000 Goldwing, I bought a 4000 scooter. I got what I paid for, not an Interstate cruiser...a small town, around town trike. I'm sorry you feel you got screwed. I don't feel that way and I'm not about to jump on the bandwagon of discontent. To anyone reading this if you don't have mechanic skills of some kind I would not recommend you buy one of these scoots, but if you do have some skills then they are a ball. My apologies for my blunt but truthful statements. vr,

Here, here, That is a fact, I bought my Ice Bear back in march of 2009, had a few things to iron out the first couple of months but after that has been a great ride for me. I have over 7000 miles on mine and it runs like a scalped ape. It even has the original battery it came with, starts on the first push of the button. But like Lee said if you are not mechanically inclined then you best not buy a chinese scoot, if you do buy from a local dealer that has a backroom to fix things for you. Or before you buy find a mechanic or dealer that will work on whatever you buy.

If you buy a Brand Scooter it will cost you FIRST up front a lot more and then REALLY lots more to have them fixed. Now if you have some mechanical abilities and you really do not need a lot heck none at all for that matter you can buy a Chino Scoot of anykind and ride it for years. So none of the scoots nomatter what make or brand they are, are disposable. You either fix them yourselfs or have them fixed the later costs more that is all.

ahh, i already passed that stage of "being laughed at" ...some stupet people around still doesn't consider scooters as an official commuter, for them scooters connotes something sissy or gayish or whatever..i don't care,,in these hard times i need to save money, and riding a scooter is a real money saver.
i really hate people who drive big block V8s,and some ricer's..what do they want to prove???

To answer your question, no this website is NOT owned by a couple of dealers.

However, I am a Ice Bear Dealer and if you read my BBB report and the comments made by folks on this board, a damn good one. It is a shame that there are people out there that "pretend" to be a "dealer" . All they do is get a website and collect your money, and drop ship you a machine. Heck they don't even answer their phones. They could care less if you have problems. A lot of them have not even seen the product they sell let alone, worked on one. All you have to do is read the "dealer section" on here or look at BBB reports. Believe me when I tell you that when Ice Bear finds out a dealer is not supporting his customers, they take action.

I want to take a moment and talk about some info down concerning machines. The comparison has been made several times about Ice Bear vrs a Goldwing trike.

First of course is the cost: Ice Bear 300 around $4200 New 2012 Goldwing $43,000 http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2012-....TH-TRI-99840329 2010 Model $34,000 http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2010-....RT--GO-99079561

Next: You can not buy a Goldwing from a distributor and have it drop shipped to you, you must buy from a Dealership, which has been prepped and inspected before it is sold. Every machine sold off a dealer's lot MUST be inspected, PDIed, prepped, whatever words you want to call it, before it can be sold.

Of course you get a much better warranty with a Goldwing than an Ice Bear. But, extended warranties are available from some dealers if you want to pay for it.

Parts will cost you a lot more money for a Goldwing vrs a Ice Bear.

Good luck on working on your Goldwing without extensive special tools and experience. Working on a Ice Bear trike is not rocket science and does not require a shop full of expensive special tools.

For just over $4000.00 you can have a trike that you can enjoy and work on yourself or have a shop work on it for not much money.

Every manufacture has machines that are "Problem Children", the difference is how the end customer is treated by their selling dealer and how the dealer is treated by their distributor. I will tell you that every experience that I have had with Ice Bear has been top notch. Keep in mind that Ice Bear ( Pacific Rim) is wholesale only and does not deal with the public, that is what dealers are for. Each dealer is required to support their own customers, before and after the sale. There has been times that I have had to wait for a part to come from China but, that has been far and few between. I have had people call me that had bought their machines elsewhere and had problems getting a part, ie long wait time, funny thing was when I called IB it was sitting in the warehouse. Kinda tells me that their dealer just didn't want to be bothered.

I guess the bottom line here boils down to individual dealers and not "Ice Bear Junk".

For the record my shop works on all brands of scooters/motorcycles, not just chinese machines. So I do have experience and know what I am talking about.

I will get off my soap box now!

>:(Icebear is total junk! I bought one and they just droped at my door without even checking it out first. Then I find it will not run and have to search for a loose wire. After finding the loose wire, NO HELP FROM THE DEALER, it started. I ran it down the street and poof it quit. I pushed home and found the fuse blown at the battery. I replaced the fuse and no start. I checked the spark plug and no spark. No help from the dealer now, it's Saturday. Even if I get it running again where will it leave stranded next time, 10 miles from home?
Don't buy Icebear scooters or for that matter, any CHINESE garbage!
