Thanks Gary S. I picked up my Qlink used. And the plastic panels are in ruff shape. The screw holders have been broken and glued from the previous owner. He had all the panels off looking for the CDI that went bad after he pressure washed it. After he fixed it. (Glued It.) I gave him $900 for it. It was a 2008 with 1200 miles. Ran great up to 2760 miles when the coil went bad. I now have 3000 miles on it. This thing flies compared to my Euro Sport 150. That's why I need to fix the turn signals so I can keep both hands on the bars!!! Thanks again for the PICS.

my 2008 pegasus almost has 3000 miles. i bought in in may 2008 from trade usa scooters in north west georgia. they have given great service and my scooter is still going strong!! love it

Hey guys this is my first post.
Ive been searching for a scooter that I can purchase for under $2000 that is still pretty quick and still reliable. My search has taken me to two scooter.
Qlink Pegasus 150 Vs. Genuine Buddy 125
(I know its kinda apples to oranges)
Acceleration is an issue for me because i will be going through traffic to work. Ive heard the Buddy 125 is SURPRISINGLY QUICK.
What do you guys think, i know you will be biased, but do you think the 125 is a qucker scoot than the Pegasus?
Also reliability, Genuine Buddy makes great scooters, but im not too familiar with Qlink, have you guys had any problems?
Lastly, I'm in California, i know i can purchase the Qlink Pegasus on the QLINK website and have it delivered. But what about installation, what do i do about that. I know for a fact i dont trust myself to put together a scooter.
Thanks for the input in advance and can't wait to twist n go. =)

dineshd - this reply may be getting to you after you've already purchased. I'm speaking from experience when I write this. Your predicament lies in the fact that you reside in California. I bought my Peg in October and took it to the DMV thinking I'd be in and out. Low and behold (and mostly because I didn't research hard enough) they would not register it because it is lacking the CARB Approval (ie. 50 state vehicle) decal/sticker. In so many words they told me I was SOL (mods were not allowed according to them). Upon contacting Rick at Qlink he swore up and down that other people in CA had purchased and registered with no issues. Not the case for me. Rick supplied me with a certification letter for CARB approval (an executive order) but that meant nothing to the DMV - no sticker, no registration. A call to the CARB Board in California confirmed this as well.
I lucked out and was able to have a local CFMOTO dealer register the bike for me but this was after a month of waiting and many phone calls. I can't knock them though because they were doing Qlink and I both a huge favor. It is every buyer's responsibility to do their homework before they purchase and in the end I did get my scoot registered, but the dealer and I were both in agreement that Qlink should be up front with buyers in CA about the possibility of a registration issue arising.

Greetings ! Hopefully I posted this right. I bought a leftover 2008 Pegasus 150 with Residential Delivery to my home in Pennsylvania from the Qlink Website in January and would enjoy exchanging any information with other owners about these "beasts." Here's my opinion based on my experience of what to expect on a Web Order Scooter shipped to PA from out of state. (1) Make sure the "sold to" name and address on the back of the Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) has your name and address as the buyer on it and that this information on the MSO is notarized from the state where the scooter is shipped from if not shipped to you from within PA. (2) The "bill of sale" seller's name that comes with the MSO must match the Dealer Name Info on the front of the MSO. (3) The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on a scooter coming from out of state to PA has to be verified in PA by 1 of 3 ways (A) by a tracing of the VIN that you submit to the Notary (photo not acceptable) (B) verified by taking the scooter to a notary for them to view (C) taking a DMV form and scooter to a DMV Safety Inspector to have them verify the VIN. (4) Best not to apply for T-Plates at same time applying for the Title. The titling process is painfully slow. (5) You will owe PA Sales Tax at Titling. (6) FEDEX Liftgate delivery was on time with plenty of clear and precise notification of delivery. The scooter arrived fully setup and has a full factory warranty (if properly maintained) woth Roadside Assistance. The shipping crate and bubble wrapping are impressive and the scooter arrived without a scratch. I wrench all my vehicles and also bought the Pegasus Factory Service Manual as in my younger years I used to be a mechanic/DMV Safety Inspector and I intend to do my own maintenance. I feel the manual is worth the money even if just for the specs, procedures and capacities. If I had it to do over, even though the QLINK leftover $1,499 + $220 shipping WEB Order was quite a deal, I'd go through a Qlink Dealer as the above at minimum takes quite a chunk of time and patience out of your day. On my Pegasus the drive belt is a Bando 906-22.5-30. Gates makes a Kevlar Powerlink Belt, PL30808 (for dimensions 906-22.5-30) that a vendor on EBAY Motors has for $21.95 plus tax and $6 shipping. If I'm akin to the plague for Pegasus riders for ordering my machine and such via the WEB please just ignore me and save sending me a nasty response for my doing so. If you'd care to exchange info, drop me an e-mail/post and I'd be happy to hear and exchange info with other Pegasus owners.

Just a small thing to add to this thread, the scoot cranks while the kill switch is on.
So if it ran perfect yesterday or ten minutes ago but won't start now, see if you bumped the kill switch.

I did that just the other day.
I accidentally bumped it while cranking the handlebars while backing up into a parking space.
Definitely glad I checked the ignition switch before I gave up on it.
The scoot really hasn't failed me yet. (about 2200 miles)

Puchased a 2008 Pegasus from the Qlink online store last Feb. Have little over 765 miles on it. Seems to running rough. Do I need to check the spark plug and adjust the valves? If so, can I get at them through the maintenance cover below the front of the seat or do I need to remove all of the plastic.

The spark plug and valve cover can be accessed by removing the lower front cover by the floor board, the cover that is over the battery. The spark plug is a little hard to get at but can be done just be careful you don't strip the plug putting it back in. You can replace the plug with an iridium plug. Most auto parts store should have the replacement.
My Pegasus ran a bit rough for the first several hundred miles, but then started to smooth out. Have you done any kind of PDI after receiving the scooter? If you haven't replaced the engine oil and gear box oil yet, you should do so. Be sure to drain the oil by the side plug, the one on the right side of the engine the first time or two. This plug contains the oil filter screen that you need to clean out. The manual calls for a 10w-40 or 15w-40 weight oil. I have been using Shell Rotella 15w-40. Some users switch to a full synthetic motor oil after the first 1000 miles. I use a 80w-90 gear oil. Also replace the fuel filter. I thought the gas lines and vacuum hoses were pretty decent and waited a while before replacing them.

A couple of weeks ago I pulled the Q-Link (2008) out of the garage to get it ready for riding. Battery was dead so I put it on to charge, things have been going well. But it seems like the battery is not holding a charge, Friday I came out of work and it would not start, charged the battery and off I went. Rode good sat and sunday, went to start it Monday morning and nope, dead battery. I am looking around for somewhere that I might be able to take it in and let it get tested. But if the battery has gone dead, and I need to replace it, since its not a "major" brand, do you think my local autoparts store will carry a replacement or do I need to order it (suggested links?).
BTW - seems my local dealer where I bought it from has gone out of business.

Yep, sounds like its not holding a charge, though I do think there is a small charging system on our scoots (may be wrong) and yours may not be charging the battery. You can take the battery to the local auto parts store and they should be able to test it for you.
You should be able to get a new battery at your local motorcycle shop.
Or a place like Batteries Plus if you have one in your area.

Check Walmart, they carry AGM batteries, superior to the lead acid standard type batteries, cost about $40.00.

AGM's are also known as sealed batteries. They are maintenance free and once you add the acid and seal the battery, you do not open them again. There is no vent opening and they can be run in any position. They generally have more power than the same size conventional or wet cell batteries. The Everstart model ES9BS is an example of an AGM battery at Walmart. Used in many scoots.

Thanks for the quick and helpful replies. I went to Walmart last night and the wide range of Everstarts kinda blew me away - they were out of the ES9BS but had several others, but since I did not bring my old battery for trade I left empty handed.
We dont have a Batteries Plus but do have an Ebco Battery, since its on my way to work and Walmart is not, I stopped in and showed them what I had. They tested and yep the battery was bad. They had a replacement (AGM) for less than $40, and they will mix the chemicals, charge it and test it for me. I pick it up on my return trip home. So I should be back to riding tonight. YAY Me!!
Which is good because no riding on these 72+ degree days is getting to me.

2008 Pegasus with 875 mlies. Engine running rough and CVT jerky at light throttle tip in. New spark plug, adjusted the valves and set the idle speed. Helped a little but still a low speed problem. Runs great at all other speeds. Does enyone have any idea what I can do to fix it

What gap did you set your valves at? I believe for the Pegasus GY-6B engine, the intake should be .05mm and .20mm for exhaust.
ilovemypegasus has a manual and maybe he can chime in to verify this setting.
Have you checked hoses and the air box connection, as well as the carburetor to intake manifold connection? You can try putting the scooter on the center stand and then throttling it up to see if you get the same response as the problem you describe when riding it. Be very careful when doing this and make sure the rear wheel is off the ground and stays off the ground while you do some revs.
You mentioned that the CVT jerks at light throttle. Don't know, could be the belt slipping. With mine, I had some stumbling and hesitation throughout the power range until the scooter died on the 9th day of ownership. Found out it was a bad pick up coil. Dealer replaced and the hesitation problem was reduced by about 50% with that fix. The rest I figured was typical break in issues that I read about and this gradually went away after several hundred Km.

Welcome and congratulations on your purchase. $1300 is a great price. Did you purchase from a dealer or online? Make sure you do a thorough PDI. That said, I found the hoses and fluids to be pretty good out of the box, but I went and changed all the fluids right off the bat and then the hoses shortly after that. It takes several hundred miles of breaking in before the Pegasus reaches peak form.

The standard plug on the Pegasus is NGK DPR7EA. This is what I have. Some people say that they can't find that plug. I have seen other sources list the plug as NGK DPR7EA-9.
Not sure what the iridium plug number is. You can do a Google cross reference on the NGK plug. I did replace my NGK plug with the iridium plug a few years ago but I don't remember the number. I had to order it through O'Reillys and picked it up the next day.
Addendum: OK, I did a quick search and found the iridium equivalent is DCPR7EIX

Thanks and thanks for the info! I bought it from a victory dealer in COLUMBUS, GA. Go pick it up in the morning. Plan to use it around town. But, we wanted it to take to car shows so I would have a way to go and my wife could have the truck. I've had bikes off and no all my life. My last bike I had was 7 years ago a 2002 R1.

hey. Newbie here. Have a 2008 Pegasus that I have put 20 miles on thus far Enjoy riding it. 6'3" here. I was worried how I would adjust, but it handles great. Bought from a local yamaha shop so should have good service after the sale.

Welcome to the pound. Congratulations on your purchase. It should give you many years and miles of service. Hopefully the dealer did a thorough PDI before you took delivery. Doesn't hurt to check tire pressure and other fluids anyway. If you plan to do your own routine maintenance, generally change out the original oil by about 100 miles and then at about 600 miles and then about every 1000 miles thereafter. The Pegasus has two drain plugs. Be sure you use the larger side drain plug the first time or two in order to observe and clean out any metal flakes the metal mesh oil filter may have picked up during the break in period.

Thank you for the advice. Have another question. The lower oil drain bolt is right over the top of the main stand. This makes it difficult to change the oil without a mess. Any suggestions?

Well, 2008 model should be good. They have no significant issues. The windshield is a $90 - $100 accessory. I get 75 - 77 mpg with my Pegasus. You might get 80 mpg tops. It's good to see they did the 600 mile check service. $1600 seems a little high. Some folks have recently paid around 1700 - $1800 for a new 2008 one.
Whatever you decide to pay, you will be getting a good scooter. Coming up on 3 years and 5300 km on my Pegasus with only minor, easily fixed problems.

. Anyway, gas mileage has averaged around 75 mpg and I got 77.7 mpg this last tank full. My daughter is getting married in 6 months and I need to shed 40+ lbs by then. That should help the top end and mpg a bit.
