| | 2004 Vespa ET2 « Thread Started on Apr 28, 2008, 2:34pm » | |
I just came across a 2004 Vespa ET2 that they are selling for $1650. It has 190 miles on the speedometer and is in showroom condition. It was garage kept. Can someone tell me if they can roll back the speedometer and if the price is reasonable? I did not see any rust or signs of the scooter being laid down. I have been real patient looking for my first sooter and just hopefully feel into this one. I looked at new Vespas and they were too pricey. I live in Florida and any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Oh really! No, it's way overpriced! Um... where did you see it?
Seriously... If you don't buy it, PM me the details and I will! That's an excellent price. You can tell by looking at a few things, the brakes, tires and engine (look for dirt build up).
Yes, of course anyone can replace a speedometer with a new one and say there are no miles on it, but most scooter people are honest...

Thanks for the input. The muffler still shines and the tires look like new. The scooter has been sitting but I rode it and it started right up. I hope this is the one I have really been looking.

I almost forgot. It came with 2 Vespa helmets, a cover and a lock.

Well I did it. I bought the Vespa. My mechanic looked it over and rode it and said it was in perfect condition. Actually with so little mileage its really not broken in yet. He took a test ride and said it got up to around 48 mph. I just need to get the paperwork taken care of and I will be driving it next week. Thanks for all the input. It was really helpful.
