carb help? +a weight question :)
« Thread Started on Aug 8, 2012, 12:06pm »

ok ive been reading up on carb tuning and such (http://www.chinesescooterreference.com/pdf/dawgscootermanual.pdf) and in the linked webpage it says 1800rpm for a 50cc scooter... well mines running pretty high with no mods (around 5-6000rpm it says) now I'm waiting on parts for my mods so i guess my question is what should my rpms be at with a 100cc bbk? should i have to adjust the fuel volume regulation screw or would it be ok just adjusting the idle screw? also i have 5g weights that i would be using.. i was wondering if i can evenly distribute 8g and 5g weights in my variator? thank you for all your help :)

Even with the BBK your idle should be adjusted to the 2K range. You can adjust idle with the Idle screw. Adjusting with a mixture screw is not a proper way to do this and could damage the engine.
Not using all rollers of the same weight will place excessive loads on the heavier weights and cause them to wear quickly. I'd suggest 6.5 as a midpoint for your 5 and 8g weights but your idea would work.
