stock 50cc. 700 miles. plenty of compression starts fine. I have put on a new cdi, new coil, I dont know what the stock jetting was but i have tried 4 different carbs and have tried a 68, 75, 79, 80, 85, 89, and 90 jets in each carb. I tried running it with the air box on and off with each jet, I measured the piston to be sure it wasnt a 63 and it IS a 50cc. the rollers arent jammed, the clutch isnt stuck. So, any idea why it will barely get to half throttle on the center stand and die out?

What kind of carb is on there, take a picture of the Carb area, if its a CVK carb it could be something wrong with the Diaphgram that raises the needle out of the Main jet. Have you taken the motor apart the head and for what reason? You may have it timed wrong if you did. Have you Adjusted the Fuel Ratio Mixture sounds LEAN to me. Turn the Fuel Ratio screw clockwise and then turn it Counter Clockwise 2 1/2 turns that should be pretty close to make it run pretty descent. Wile

Try the ignition circuit. The engine sounds fine, and if you tried 4 different carbs then that probably isn't the problem. Possibly the petcock but I'm sure you already checked that.
Just start looking at what you haven't changed and you may form some ideas for what is wrong.

Have you actually observed that the carb slide is rising properly . . to rule out an intake suction leak, or a mis-aligned intake insulator spacer obstruction?
Verified that the fuel tank outlet valve diaphragm is not torn (if so equipped), causing excessive fuel flooding? Check for broken valve springs? Tested pick-up trigger coil volts?

All the carbs were good, known working carbs. I have somewhere around 30 of them and while doing upgrades on my scoot I just swapped out the carbs to see what brand and size gave the best performance. The petcock is good. clear lines and filter so i can see the fuel. Intake manifold is new. Im going to try swapping out the stator and flywheel real quick. Maybe the pickup coil is bad?

Either that or the woodruff key is bent or sheared so the timing is a bit off.

Thank you Greg. When you mentioned ignition circuit I started thinking EVERYTHING ignition, I replaced the stator and it runs like a champ. One last thing, what is the ideal/optimum jetting for stock airbox (no egr)

For stock everything, about a 35 to 38 idle and 78 to 80 main

Im pretty good at working on scoots. Its not often i get stumped. I believe that every time I have been stumped, Greg has been the one to help the most. Thank you to all tho. Could have been anything, but with further examining, the pickup's wire was shorted.
