 New Scoot, Electrical Problem?
« Thread Started on Apr 10, 2008, 4:39pm »

I just finished assembling my Chinese XM-50 scooter.. I haven't put gas in it yet, but I thought I would push the ignition button just to see if it is hooked up correctly (My headlight had a bad ground that I needed to fix). I don't hear anything when I push the ignition. Does this sound like an electrical problem?

Thanks,
Dan

Are you pulling the left brake handle at the same time to enable the electrical interlock?

XM-50 webpage does not look at all impressive . . typical deficient product description such as "chain drive". Spec table say 3.00-10 tires, but image underneath indicates 13" tires and 16" rims?? If the scooter actually has remote start, this feature may also cause a lot of grief . . research previous related discussions.

That was it. I guess I should have waited until I read the entire manual before attempting something as advanced as starting the engine :)

Now that you mention it, the remote starter and alarm worked fine out of the box, but has since stopped working.

Yeah, you don't really read those manuals, you translate them! :-)

I figured out the alarm/remote starter problem.. The fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and it works fine now.

Yeah.. The manual wasn't much help.
