I took my carb restrictor off I took the clutch restrictor off and now I took the wire off the cdi box that restricts speed now the scooter goes 70 km/h and runs and sounds good but I now have a problem with my battery going dead when I go out for a ride. Does anybody have a fix?

check all your connectors maybe you bumped one off while derestricting it. if your cdi had 5 wires then it probably was not restricted "based on various posts here" so you might try plugging it back in. ive not taken to much look at the wireing on my scoot yet but they are simple, you could trace the wires from the right side of the engine and see if any of those are unplugged. does the scooter run after the battery is dead or do you just lose your lights/horn/etc?

The scooter does still run but I loose the signal lights and the starter but I have a kick start as for the wire I removed the national dealer told me what to do as soon as I took the wire off the bike went faster I think it might just be a crappy battery.

ok charged the battery fully then I went for one hour ride battery is lower but I took the battery off started the scooter and tested the the battery conections and I have no charge coming to the battery could this be the altenateor?

ok, lets start with the easy part. 1. you should have a inline fues in a little white case next to the battery, make sure this is not blown and has a good connection. you can do a visual check and see if the wire inside is burnt in two, maybe wiggle it a bit and make sure the connection is good. 2. get a volt 12v/ohm meter and lets take some numbers. start the scooter and let it warm up so it idles ok, check the voltage at the battery, rev it up a bit "easy check here is to watch your headlights, if they get brighter when you rev it its charing most likely" to charge a 12v battery you need about 12.6-14 volts if it falls outside this range you have other issues "to high = voltage regulator issues" 3. if the fuse looks good and your still not getting proper voltage at the batter for charging we need to look further into the system, i.e voltage regulator. the voltage regulator should have 4 wires "see diagram, also check your owners manual for one specific to your scoot" the voltage regulator "atleast on my scoot" is under the seat bucket on the frame, right hand side it will probably have "red/white/green/yellow" the red wire will go to your battery, white/green should go to your magneto, yellow goes to your magneto as well with a stop at the cdi unit. without taking my scoot apart and doing the checks myself im pretty sure youy need to check the voltage between the white wire and ground "use the - on the battery if the meter will reach" this should be your un-regulated voltage, give it a few revs and watch the voltage it should go above 13+ just above a idle if its not already. if it does and your still not getting a charge at the battery this means your voltage regulator is not working "these can be bought cheap here www.partsforscooters.com/ " 4. if you do NOT have any voltage readings above 13-14 volts when giving it a bit of gas at the voltage regulator this would indicate there is a issue with your magneto, your ohm meter will be of help here, you want to check resistance to ground, you should have a connector for the magneto that you can unplug, this will isolate the magneto and keep you from getting false readings. it will be a 3 pin connector with yellow/green/probably black striped wire. disconnect the plug and measure the resistance to ground 'put your - lead on the battery or a nice clean spot on the engine case" and use the + wire on each terminal you should read 0 ohms give or take a few, if it reads a very high resistance or infinate that means you have a open connection on your magneto or burnt winding "highly unlikely" i cant stress enough making sure all the connectors and wires are secure, but this should walk you through most of the diagnostic steps to figure out where your issue lies. you also posted you suspected a dud of a battery so take it out and run down the the local parts store and have them check it, most parts stores will do this for free.
