Merry Christmas all!
I have a chance to buy a Daelim S Five for $100. The bike is pretty clean but the top end is bad due to a malfunctioning oil injector. Does anyone know what type of motor is in this? I know it's not a Minarelli. I think it might be a clone of a Kymco motor but I don't know what one. I am interested in what type of cylinder I would have to buy and where to get it from.
Thanks

Daelim is linked to Honda. They were a sister company until they became independant. My guess is that it is a Honda engine or very similar. Many Daelim scooters here in Korea have Honda engines
In the same vein Hyosung is linked to Suzuki.

It is a Morini. The Chinese clone of this particular one is the H1E41QMB.

No there are several different 41qmb's. Mine is a H1E41QMB. Theres also a D1E41QMB which has a different bottom end than mine. You can compare the gaskets for the two different motors at partsforscooters.com. I'm sure there are others to. The H1E41QMB is horizontal as well as the D1E41QMB.

Now I'm really confused. One of my scoots is a D1E41QMB that is vertical cylinder and chain driven.
If you look on parts for scooters under the: 50cc D1E41QMB 2-stroke Scooter Parts "Parts for scotoers with 50cc 2-stroke D1E41QMB02, D1E41QMB, H1E41QMB and 1E41QMB model engines. This motor is used on many popular Chinese scooters including the Qingqi QMQT50-B2."
The clutch I bought there is chain driven. So the H1E41QMB is horizontal and belt drive CVT? So, using parts for scooters, how would you order a clutch? Am I looking in the wrong place? These 41QMBs really confuse me!

No, not your fault. It's mine, sorry. Here is the link to Discount Scooter Parts. I gave you the wrong site. If you compare the D1E41QMB base gasket to the H1E41QMB base gasket, you can see they're different. If you compare the H1E41QMB base gasket to the pictures of my bottom end you can see they match. www.discountscooterparts.com/rebuild_kits.htmAs far as the Horizontal or Vertical, I could be wrong. At Discount Scooter Parts in the clutch section, there is a 1E41QMB clutch which is also chain driven. So I don't know, but obviously the base gaskets for the H1E41QMB match my engine. Maybe some of the parts for the Vertical and Horizontal match up. I dunno?

WOW! That is interesting. It looks like if the parts are interchangeable they drop off the first letter and say it fits "1E41QMB". I see from your pics that the head is different. The D1E head looks like a square with one corner chopped off. I know from looking around that the biggest big bore kit I could find for the D1E41QMB was 65cc, which I thought was odd. Possibly has something to do with that base/base gasket. Any idea how big of a bore can go on an H1E41QMB?
My 2005 Geely project is vertical cylinder and chain drive. The weird part is that it is stamped on the motor with 1E40QMB. It surely is not a minarelli. I think it was done to squeak it past the DOT.

Where are the 2T's stamped? I know where to find it on the 4T but haven't hunted on my 2T yet.

Found a 70cc kit somewhere. I can't remember now. I am buying the bike next week sometime. I'll get more into it then. I am only building it to a 50cc and using it for my spare 2T. Then I'm gonna tweak my minarelli CPI Oliver.

Well Congrats and good luck. I don't think there is any way you can lose for $100.00. Absolute worst case, if something really major was wrong you could part it out and still get your investment back. So we should see pictures of it sometime this weekend? LOL
Merry Christmas
