I have an '06 Linhai 300. It's a solid machine. I have 9,100 miles and have never done anything other than routine maintenance.
Aside from oil changes (gear and engine) every 1000 or 1500 miles, and a coolant flush and refill every year, I've never done anything to it. I've flushed my brakes out once and re-filled the fluid with good DOT 4 fluid. I've replaced the front tire once and back tire twice (But only because the back tire blew out while going down the highway due to a valve stem letting loose).
That's it. The only weak point has been the CDI for me. I've had to replace it 4 or 5 times. My theory is that it gets too hot in July being under the front floor / footrest, and the wires inside cook. But that's electrical.
The engine is SOLID. I have done one valve adjustment (didn't really need it), and it just keeps on ticking.
At 2,000+ miles, your engine is barely broken in. If my first 9,000 miles are any indication, I'd expect to get at least 30K out of it before I had to do anything. Maybe many more.

PS: if you have the original brass valve stems common on Chinese bikes, get rid of them! Get some good quality chrome valve stems. My back one let loose as I was exiting the interstate, causing me to suddenly loose tire pressure. I've had two Chinese scooters, and have experienced valve stem failure on both.

i went 10k in a year riding it hard, before some lady freaking killed it, and i would expect it to have gone another 10 or 15k.

I may be a dick, but i can probably fix your broke ass stuff, so deal with it.
Not mechanically inclined + Chinese scooter = Bad. Unless you're paying me by the hour and your not.

| I heard centrifugal force acting on the bent part of the valve stem will pull it out by the rubber grommet. I replaced them with the 85deg ones (3rd from the bottom) that bolt from the inside. http://kurveygirl.com/shop/index.php?cPath=27
