For a while when researching scoots, the 250b looked like what I needed. Then a change of heart came over me and an old helix seemed to be lower maintenance for around the same price. So I guess Im confused as to which would be better, a 1990 Helix, (say 9000 miles) over a new Roketa 250B as far as longetivity and performance is concerned. And if this is the case, Instead of a helix, is a Commuter or a Fashion a contenter in substitution of the Honda?? Soo many similar choices.!! Im not afraid to turn a wrench, but parts availability for the 250b concerned me.?

The choice between "Honda Helix" and "Roketa" is a question between RIDE or REPAIR. Since I got my Roketa I have learned many repair points and gained tech. knowledge, while no ride. My sons asks me everyday."hay dad are we going to take a ride to day"? and my answer is So if you are not planning to have a garge project or basement hobby and just need something to commute, go HELIX all the way. Helix are classics and 9000mile is nothing for that engine. TNKU

Think that Dr. Pully CN250 transmission upgrade kit will make a noticable difference in power or top speed. Possibly helpful for Long distance travel. Or just a waste of money. Kinda looking like helix is the way of the walk but still investigating.

I bought a 1998 helix three weeks ago and have put over a thousand miles on it already. Absolutely love it. My riding is all highway, as I live in a very small town. No problem riding at 60 MPH and getting fantastic gas mileage.

We are a CF Moto dealer. CF Moto used to sell Qlink our products and they put them under their own name, meaning, the commuter. Honda helix is not made any more and CF Moto purchased the rights to make it (so I am told). Honda Helix, commuter and Fashion are all interchangable parts! We have a Fashion for our personal use. My husband drove it from Long Island to Daytona FLA bike week on less then $40.00 in gas. It went up to 83mph and was a great ride!!! Can't beat the 2 year unlimited mileage warranties either that CF Moto offers!!

OK Dawgs. This helix is a dream on wheels. Instead of the 99 I went with a slightly older model but as we all know there is no difference between Year xx and year xx. The 110 mile drive from Purchace point to home was the best. Some highway, some interstate. Hwy is way more fun IMO. Time for a fluid check and maintainence update. Radiator fluids kinda low but everything else is good. low miles too. any suggestions. ..

Yeah, post some pictures. We are a visual group and like to see a nice ride. Anyway, congratulations on your purchase. There are several members that own one of the Helix/Fashion/Commuter scooters and they can be of great help to you on this forum.

Will do. Should be getting the Digicam back from my neighbor shortly . I keep seeing these bikes with the top boxes but having trouble finding one. Theres allready a givi rack on my bike but w/givis costs it may be better to replace the rack w/something generic. Any suggestions on a top box setup??

You did good with the Helix. They are great. First suggestion I would make is for a driver backrest. It is the only thing the Helix lacks to be perfect. It'll completely enhance the already cushy comfort.

Take a look at the crankcase breather tube, if you have visual oil in there (it is a clear plastic tube) situated just forward of the CVT, drain it. The Helix will foam a bit under sustained high speeds. This is NORMAL and is not a problem, just drain the tube and change the oil on a regular basis. You made the right decision. No matter how bad you treat it, you can put it back right!! Can't do that with many two wheel machines!

I had option to go with Honda Helix older early 90s alot of miles and still wanted $3,000 so I got the Roketa Bali 250 with the Honda Helix 250 clone engine love it didnt like the box look of the older helix and couldnt see paying that much for a 20 something yr old bike when I got the Bali for 1,700 and except for a few stripped bolts and a small electrical issues no problems put 1000k on it in month and half do about 80mph I dont mind working on them but so far its been more riding hope my Bali will hold up like garys hes got 15,000 on his!! I really think the Chinese have gotten alot better with the quality of there scoots especially from my 2005 Wildfire to my new 2009 Roketa Bali 250cc

have fun scooting enjoy ur Helix great scooter just dont like the shape too boxy but they do have a great motor one reason I was sold on Roketa cause it had the exact clone to the helix engine! and the money issue half the price for new or go more money for old that u dont know what its been thru guess I made that mistake once with old scoot now at least I know everything that has been done to my scooter thats my opinion could come back and haunt me or I could of done right move we will see but my budget was under 2000 so that factored in to and just never had any luck buying used with scoots cars nothing so this is the first auto mobile I got brand spanking new couldnt be happier hope u love ur Helix and got a good one that somebody didnt neglect like my old scoot it was 5 yrs old and still had original plug never had oil change or nothing! after a few hundred dollars its finally running good with 7,800k on it!

I just bought a 250 cc Moto Fashion, I find that the handlebars are real tight when I turn them. Do you think the friction in the handlebars will get easier in time I only have 20 miles on it. This is a brand new 2009. Also my husband said he thinks the brakes are sloppy, takes a little to stop I really have not been able to ride it, I took the MSF course and had to ride a motorcyle which I did but I failed on the last day because they said I was afraid to lean on the turns. I wish I could have taken the the test on my 50cc Kymco but not in N. H. I hope I get my license soon so I can ride the Fashion. Wish I knew a school where you can go for your license on a scooter. Thanks
