Hello...I'm new to this forum, but recently purchased a Roketa MC-54-250 Scooter. I just noticed that one of the front light bulbs is very dim and needs replaced, but I have no instructions for getting to the light bulb to replace it. I've sent an e-mail to the vendor I purchased the scooter from, but haven't received a response. Does anyone have any ideas about how to change the light bulb? Do I need to take the front fairing off to get to the bulbs?
Thanks!!!

Welcome to the Pound JW! Depending on which bulb you mean, yes you will need to remove the front. I have a 250B and can get to the turn indicators without removal but it is difficult. Use the forum search feature here by changing the number in the days and posts area at the bottom to high numbers and you may find front fairing removal steps.

Well min 54-250B uses 25w or 35w bulbs, I assume they put in the cheaper 25w ones. So you could put in 35w bulbs. They are a twist socket kind of bulb. They look like the one shown here: www.partsforscooters.com/Head_light_bulb-35w?sc=9&category=656www.oregonvintage.comor www.partsforscooters.com usually have the bulbs, but sometimes they sell out for a while. Sometimes you see the bulbs on Ebay as well. A number of other online retailers probably sell them too. it is probably a good idea to get the LED turn signal bulbs too, as well as taillight LED lights too. Maybe even the two little wedge running lights replaced with LED's. Replacing the headlight bulb requires you to remove the front panel, so you can access the headlights from the inside or rear. With the front panel off, you will see the two rubber covers, slip off the covers, and then you can unclip the socket, pull it out and replace the bulb. Do not touch the bulb with your fingers. if you do use some acetone and clean off the glass. You can slip on a pair of latex gloves to handle the bulbs with too. Basically the skin oils or motor oil, etc on your skin sticks to the glass and when the bulb fires up it burns onto the glass causing a hot spot, which causes the bulb to fail prematurely. When I checked the light bulbs on my 150cc, before I ever started it, I found fingerprints on one headlight bulb. So I cleaned the bulbs good, before I put it back together. You can remove the rear tub cover panel to access the tailights from the inside. One of our other forum members took these two pics of the headlight socket as shown here. You can see the spring wire clip holding the socket in place. and here is the twist and lock socket itself.

Those are great pictures. I have an HID light from my current scooter which I'd like to install on my next scooter. I wonder if it would be possible to cut off the socket at the wires and connect an H4 socket in there since my HID kit uses H4 bulbs. It would also be a lot easier to find H4 bulbs for those who want to keep halogen lights. EDIT: I found the answer to my question after searching a bit more. scootdawg.proboards59.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=200cc&thread=15129&page=1
